FRP UNIVERSALLY APPLICABLE
Glass fiber reinforced plastics are made from reinforcing materials, various resins and other additives. During production, glass fibers or glass fiber mats are impregnated with synthetic resin and, if necessary, sealed so that a homogeneous composite is created. Hydewa offers the following variants of standard FRP:
FRP WITHOUT FINISHING (LX-E)
In this case, the sheets of glass fiber reinforced plastic are produced without special surface finishing. This is the most cost-effective variant. Since synthetic resin always has small blowholes (pores) due to the production process, microorganisms/particles can settle there. Unfinished FRP material is therefore suitable for many hygienic areas, but not for the very highest demands or stresses.
GELCOAT (LX-P)
Gelcoat means that the FRP surface is sealed with a special synthetic resin-based hard coating. This seals open pores and provides increased resistance to chemicals (such as cleaning agents).
Hydewa offers standard GRP both as sheet material for direct bonding and as a top layer for sandwich panels. FRP is available flat or textured and in various thicknesses.
